Hey, crafty cardmakers!
Paper crafters, pull up a chair. Today, we are opening the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit, and things are going slightly off-script in the best way possible.
The original plan was to use the stamped images. Instead, my creative brain took a sharp left turn, completely ignored that plan, and focused entirely on the ephemera pieces. To make up for this act of artistic rebellion, I put together a bonus card using those neglected stamps. In the end, everything turned out beautifully, proving that accidental detours make excellent destinations.

We are making three distinct cards using a technique that is wonderfully messy but incredibly simple: ink smooshing. If you have never smeared ink onto plastic packaging and pressed it onto a card, you are missing out on some excellent therapeutic crafting.
Using distress crayons and leftover packaging, we will build stunning backgrounds. Then, we will frame the kit’s ephemera with a classic postage edge to create a lovely, eye-catching centerpiece for each project.

These designs are as simple as counting to three, making them perfect for a relaxing afternoon at your craft table. Grab your supplies, and let’s get making!

As soon as I saw the picture of the water lily I got an idea! I have a Pussywillow die that would look lovely with the Lotus Blossom from Hero Arts. Just looking at those pictures got my creative juices going and I haven’t watched the video yet! (laughing). You are always such an inspiration, Tina! I absolutely love reading and watching your channel.
