Die-Cut Dipping: The Easiest DIY Watercolor Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hello there, lovely paper crafters!

Today, I am playing with the gorgeous Altenew Lush Botanicals: Poinsettia Emboss & Cut Set. Instead of traditional, meticulous painting where you try not to go outside the lines, we are breaking out the Altenew 24 Half Pan Watercolors for a messy technique I like to call “Die Cut Dipping.”

The concept is beautifully simple. We are letting water and our craft mat do the heavy lifting. If you can drop a piece of paper into a puddle of colorful water, you got this. The results are wonderfully unpredictable, incredibly vibrant, and—best of all—it looks like you spent hours over every single petal.

Now, because I love options, I also have a little surprise for you. In the main tutorial, I skipped using the embossing folder on the petals to keep things sleek. But if you stick around until the very end of the video, I have a bonus card that showcases exactly how that gorgeous embossing folder adds texture to the painted layers.

I would also consider this a 5 Step Card – See Below!
