Hi there, lovely cardmakers!
Welcome to my blog! We are rolling right into Day 1 of the new Simon Says Stamp “Shine On” release celebration! Today, I am sharing a fun coastal card using a simple five-step formula. I am playing with two items that belong together like peanut butter and jelly: the Happy Seagull die and the Weathered Pilings die.

Instead of ink-blending a traditional blue sky background, I decided to go rogue ( I often do that:). I grabbed the Simon Leafy Greens stencil. To my eye, those leaves look alot like tangled coastline seaweed. It adds a wonderful, unexpected texture to the project and out of the ordinary. Step aside, standard waves—we are going outside the box!

When I see these gulls all I can think of is the movie Finding Nemo and those gulls chattering “mine, mine, mine”. Cute card. Love the pilings too.
