Carmaking with Yana’s Everyday City Holiday Collection from Spellbinders

Hello friends!

There is something truly lovely about the architecture of a building. Structures tell stories, and today we are bringing that feeling to paper. We are making a fancy gate fold card with a special twist: a continuous belly band. Unlike normal bands, this one slips on and off without breaking up the visual flow of the building facade.

To build this three-story house, I grabbed a few pieces from Yana’s Everyday City Holiday Collection, the Everyday Windows, Curtains and Flower Boxes Etched Die and the Welcome Home Sentiments Press and Foil Plate and Die Set. With of course the main City Holiday Etched Die Set.

Putting this together is pure fun. I started by ink-blending the window backings with a mix of blue and yellow. It creates a bright glow, making the house look lived-in. Next, I tucked tiny pink rose flowers into each window box for a splash of color against the frame.

The seamless band keeps the whole look together until the recipient slides it off to open the house. Hopefully, this sparks some ideas for your next craft night. Check out the video below to see the construction step-by-step.

So grab a cup of coffee, gather your supplies and let’s get crafty! Thanks so much for stopping by, wishing you a day filled with crafty supplies, love, laughter and smiles! Sending crafty hugs, Tina. 💌
