Crafting Your Way to a Brighter Day: A Handmade Card Tutorial using items from my stash!

Hello fellow crafters!

Today, I’m feeling a little blue (with color I mean). Or maybe you know someone who is? There’s nothing like getting a little something special in the mail, so let’s use some of that glorious stash we all pretend doesn’t exist and make an encouragement card that’s so cute, it practically winks at you. Grab your supplies and let’s get a little messy!

Step 1: Big Blooms, Bigger Smiles

First up, let’s get to the star of the show. We’re using the Hero Arts Large Flower Layering Die set. Seriously, these are XL flowers, which means they’re impossible to ignore, just like the love you’re sending! Pick your favorite shades of blue and green, die-cut those petals, and layer ’em up.

Step 2: Getting Stripy (and Saving Money!)

Next, the focal point gets a cozy home. The Spellbinders Lots of Stripes Die set adds texture and interest. A coupon code is available for 10% off your next purchase at Spellbinders. Use code TINA10 at checkout-good for 10% off any Spellbinders branded product (excl clubs, clearance). This is one of my TOP 3 Picks over at Spellbinders! Promotion valid from 10/20/2025 through 11/16/2025 at 11:59 PM PST, more details below.

Step 3: Say Something Nice

Now for the heart of the matter—the sentiment! The Hero Arts Message Strips Stamp and Cut Set is ideal. Stamp and cut a perfect strip of hope.

Step 4: A Moody, Inked Background

Grab a piece of dark cardstock and the Hero Arts Stacked Circles Stencil. Lightly blend Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink over the stencil on the bottom 2/3 of the panel. Cover the seam with a thin strip of Paridot cardstock.

Step 5: Glitz and Glam, Because Why Not?

Add some bling. Use Glaze n’ Glue and polka dots for the flower centers to add dimension, and add some Spellbinders Color Essential Gems for glam.
