Cardmaking In 5 Easy Steps – Simon Says Stamp Basket Bunny

Cardmaking in 5 Easy Steps – March 07, 2026 – Cards and Coffee Time

Hello creative friends! Spring is practically knocking on the door, and the new Beautiful Moments release from Simon Says Stamp has me reaching for all the pastels! I recently sat down to play with a few of the new goodies, and I couldn’t resist putting together a little scene that feels like a sunny afternoon in the garden.

The Star of the Show: Basket Bunny

The centerpiece of this card is the Basket Bunny Die. This little character is just too cute, holding a tiny basket that begs to be filled with treats. I die-cut the bunny and layered him over a trio of colorful eggs made using the Stitched Nested Eggs Die Set. Those stitched details add such a polished look to the “Easter-y” shapes.

Adding Texture and Grass

To give the background some movement, I used the Leaf Spin Embossing Folder. It creates a beautiful, swirling leaf pattern that makes the whole card feel more dynamic without being distracting.

For a bit of a three-dimensional touch, I decided to skip the standard ink-blending for the ground. Instead, I grabbed some scrap cardstock in different shades of green and cut them into super thin, messy strips to create my own handmade Easter grass! It gives the bunny a soft, shaggy place to stand and adds a nice bit of texture to the bottom of the card.

Finishing Touches

I kept the layout simple to let those Spring colors shine. This project was a great reminder of how much fun it is to mix and match new release items with simple paper-crafting techniques.
