Today, I’m sharing a project that truly captures the magic of a timeless tale: a handmade card inspired by The Wizard of Oz, created using the enchanting Spellbinders and Graphic 45 The Wonder of Oz Collection. This collaboration is a dream come true for anyone who loves whimsical, nostalgic designs.
The star of the show for this project was the Wonder of Oz Silhouette Die. This intricate die cuts a beautiful, classic silhouette that serves as the perfect focal point for the card’s main imagery. The details in this die are fantastic and really help to bring the scene to life. A simple brick stencil created the iconic yellow brick road immediately grounded the project in the familiar world of Oz. This easy technique adds significant depth and storytelling to the card.
No Wizard of Oz project is complete without a nod to the legendary ruby slippers. The greeting was accented using vibrant red glitter cardstock. This bright, sparkly pop of color beautifully contrasts with the yellow road and adds that touch of magic associated with those famous shoes.

Elements from the Winter borders die set were incorporated to add an extra layer of texture and detail to the card. While these dies are “winter” themed, their intricate, elegant designs can be adapted for any season or theme. They are one of my favorite border dies from Spellbinders

The Perfect Sentiment
Finally, the greeting was created using the Spellbinders Betterpress Plate and Die Set called The Wonder of Oz Sentiments. The Betterpress system gives a professional, crisp finish. These sentiments are the perfect addition to the collection, offering classic phrases that fit right in with the theme.
This project combined the beautiful dies from the collection created a memory filled, heartfelt, dimensional card. The journey down the yellow brick road has never been more fun!
